The Omega Showboat Talent Extravaganza

The Xi Pi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. announces the return of the Omega Showboat Extravaganza XI to the Hotel Eleganté Colorado Springs on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 6:00PM. One of the highlights of event is performances by local area talent. We are soliciting people that can sing, play instruments, dance, or have a unique talent to be part of our show. Auditions will be held October 5, 2013 at the Olympic Training Center, the Presidential Conference Room from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  .

The Omega Showboat was created in the 1930s by brothers of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Chapter located in New York City as a talent show for adults and continued to sponsor it into the 1940s as a fundraising event with proceeds used to assist young men and women pursuing their collegiate education. On November 8, 2003, the Omega Showboat made its inaugural appearance in Colorado Springs.  Over the last 10 years, the Xi Pi Chapter, through its Uplift Foundation, has awarded over $70,000 in scholarships to Colorado Springs youth.  If you want to participate in this event, please contact Jerald Gatlin, Talent Coordinator at 719-229-7606 or email at jjgatlin@hotmail.com
