My name is Greg Johnson, with Black Beat Productions, a video production company here in Colorado Springs, for more than 25 years. Black Beat Productions is dedicated to promoting community edification through offering television productions that inspire hope, achievement, utilization of potential, and a respectful remembrance of history from a variety of perspectives.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 6 p.m., Black Beat will be hosting a seven-person panel of professionals discussing “Is Health Care a Priority for African American Men?” The panel discussion will be videotaped at 21st Century Library, 1175 Chapel Hills Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and shown on a later date on our weekly television program on Comcast Channel 17 (The Library Channel), which airs at 5 p.m. on Sundays and 6 p.m. on Mondays. Although this discussion addresses male health, women are strongly encouraged to attend this event.
The purpose of the discussion is to promulgate the need for preventive and corrective health care; to examine local health resources; to encourage the present and the next generation to take measures to identify health needs; and to break the cycle of neglect that has led to alarming statistics regarding the health care of African American men.
