40 years ago, in 1969, the story of Flash Cadillac began at the University of Colorado - a time when around campus, rock and roll meant Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, the Doors and Cream. While most of their peers were obsessing about this new style of hard rock, Flash Cadillac believed in and carried on the feel of 50’s and 60’s rock and roll and have been the true carriers of that flame to this day.

In their long and successful career, Flash Cadillac has had the opportunity to co-star in the film American Graffiti in 1973, directed by George Lucas, had a guest appearance on the hit T.V. show Happy Days in 1975 and were highlighted in the gritty war movie, Apocalypse Now in 1978.

Flash Cadillac, whose band members all live along the Front Range, has played thousands of concerts all across America and the world. With their legendary sparkle and style, they keep the rock and roll music of the 50’s and 60’s vibrant, fresh and fun. The News Year’s Eve Celebration at Stargazers Theatre and Event Center will include a showing of a documentary about the history of Flash Cadillac, titled “Flash Cadillac, The First Forty Years.” Stargazers will also be adding extra dance floor space for this special event.

The same year that the band was formed, the dome theatre building located at 10 S. Parkside Drive in Colorado Springs was built as a United Artists Cinerama 150 movie theater - the newest and most technologically advanced style movie theatre of that time.

The dome building has seen several incarnations in the intervening years, but the building is freshly renovated and currently can seat up to 500 for concerts and movies and up to 200 banquet style seating for special events.

Through the last 40 years the band and the theatre have both seen a lot of changes, both have provided great entertainment, good times and wonderful memories for many thousands of people and both are ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve with flair and fun!
