I would like to take the time to say thank you. Your energy and passion allowed the sold-out Robson Arena atmosphere to remain one of the best in the country. Our program is fortunate to have support from the greatest fans in the country!
This past season we were nationally ranked for most of the season, including exciting and big wins throughout the campaign. Many of you still talk about our sweeps over Air Force and Arizona State, the wins over DU and the February win over the eventual national champion Western Michigan. There are still steps to take for our program. To say we enter the offseason with a bad taste in our mouth would be an understatement. While we fought until the end, we entered this offseason knowing that we simply were not good enough to make it to the NCAA tournament and compete for a National Championship. However, I am confident that we are knocking on the door. The NCHC continues to prove to be the best conference in the country. In any given season, if you win in the NCHC, you can beat anyone, anywhere. We are not starting over, we are not rebuilding, we have really good players returning and a great recruiting class coming this fall.
You should be excited for the upcoming 2025-26 season. We have high expectations for this team. We have a great nucleus of players coming back and top recruits from Canada, Sweden and the U.S. coming to Colorado College this fall. Most of our top players are returning from last season, including our top scorer Owen Beckner, our leading goal scorer Drew Montgomery, our leading power-play goal scorer Klavs Veinbergs, All-NCHC defenseman Max Burkholder, and our All-American goaltender Kaidan Mbereko. That doesn’t include players I expect to take a big step, such as Bret Link, Gavin Lindberg, Philippe Blais-Savoie, Ryan Koering and Fisher Scott. I am extremely excited about the recruits we have coming to CC this fall. I can’t give you names at the time of this letter, but some are the top recruits in all of college hockey. We are very confident they are going to contribute right away, including skilled goal-scoring forwards, a couple of tough defensemen and a goalie that will be our future after Kaidan graduates. We are going to have a stronger, more skilled and dynamic roster that is going to compete for a championship!
Another reason to be excited about the upcoming 2025-26 season is that we will host NCHC rivals Denver, North Dakota, Omaha, Minnesota Duluth, Arizona State and Western Michigan, in addition to three non-conference opponents that all made the 2025 NCAA tournament, UConn, Bentley and Providence. It’s an exciting home schedule perfect for our Tiger Hockey fans.
There is a tremendous amount of work to be done, and we want you to know that every day we are committed to doing everything we can in pursuit of bringing a championship to Colorado College. Thank you for your continued support as a season ticket holder. We are fortunate to have you with us as you cheer us on and our pursuit of championships!
Go Tigers!
