Thank you to those who participated in this year’s Gift of History campaign! Some of you joined us for our special event, donated to the CSPM or shared the campaign with others. I am excited to share that we exceeded our goal. Together, we raised $122,198 to support the CSPM’s mission and vision. These donations will ensure that the Museum engages our visitors with local history and fosters meaningful connections with one another through our exhibits, programs and collections. We look forward to sharing with you how your contribution is making a meaningful impact here at the CSPM.

We hope you will join us for the public opening celebration of Until Forever Comes: This is Ute Homeland on Thursday, June 12 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Please visit our website to learn more about the public opening celebration: https://www.cspm.org/events/until-forever-comes-this-is-ute-homelan....

If you would like to learn more about your impact or talk about your donation, please contact me at Diane.Stine@coloradosprings.gov or call (719) 385-5633.

The CSPM is pleased to work with Downtown Colorado Springs' charitable nonprofit affiliate Downtown Ventures to commemorate the leadership, vision, and accomplishments of Asian American and Pacific Islanders throughout Colorado Springs' history. The Cultural Corridor banners are displayed along Pikes Peak Avenue between Cascade Avenue and Wahsatch Avenue. Throughout Asian American and Pacific Islander's Heritage Month, we're honored to highlight these important stories which are also features in the CSPM's collections and exhibits.

Opening on June 12, 2025, Until Forever Comes: This is Ute Homeland is the result of five years of consultation with our Tribal partners: the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, and Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation. This permanent exhibition centers the ongoing history and culture of the Ute People in the Pikes Peak region, in their own words.

Looking Forward to 2026!

Colorado gained statehood on August 1, 1876, and was given the official nickname of the “Centennial State.” 2026 marks two important anniversaries: the sesquicentennial or 150th of the State of Colorado; and the semi-quincentennial or 250th of the Declaration of Independence.

The CSPM joined the national celebration of volunteer service the week of April 20. On April 26, 44 of our wonderful volunteers gathered for our annual appreciation breakfast. We enjoyed good food and good conversation. Staff recognized our top hour earners, service anniversaries, and welcomed new volunteers. We reflected on different projects and shared a variety of achievements across the different departments. This event is special, and we cannot thank our volunteers enough for everything they do for the museum.

Thank you for giving the Gift of History!

Mayor Yemi Mobolade shared with Gift of History attendees about their personal connection with the Museum.

Earlier this month, more than 160 passionate individuals of history and culture gathered together to support the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. We are delighted to share that we surpassed our goal and raised $122,198 to support our exhibits, programs, and extensive collections that make us your community's history museum.
