We’re looking for families, 20 who fit a somewhat specific bill, and are hoping that maybe you could be of some assistance. Think of it as families who give back in the face of hardship.We hope to locate a family that has been directly adversely affected by the recession — either through layoffs or foreclosures or severe belt-tightening. Now, this is supposed to be for a heartwarming piece that should make our readers feel good. 20 the right families will be struggling to make ends meet but will still keep a positive outlook. Maybe the mother volunteers for a local soup kitchen, even if she herself has trouble getting dinner on the table at home. Maybe the father has been laid off multiple times and nonetheless uses his time productively in the community. We will do uplifting, dignified profiles of families we select.
