Event Description

I want to invite you and your colleagues to our Brown Bag Lunch with author, Blake Bailey, on Wednesday, June 30, from noon to 2 pm in the Carnegie Reading Room at Penrose Library (20 N. Cascade).

Blake Bailey is the author of Cheever: A Life, a Pulitzer finalist that also won the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Francis Parkman Prize. He also edited a two-volume edition of Cheever's work, published last year by the Library of America. He received a 2005 Guggenheim Fellowship, and his articles and reviews have appeared in Slate, The NY Times, and the NY Observer, and elsewhere. He lives in Norfolk, VA where he is the Mina Darden Professor for Creative Writing at Old Dominion University. Mr. Bailey is presented through a grant from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund.
