We are looking for young, singers, dancers, and musicians to perform for 4 performances at the Ruth Holley Library, February 27, from 2-4 pm during the Black History Month "Family Day". The sets will be 15-20 minutes. Performers aged 5-18 are sought. Groups or solo okay. No pay, lots of opportunity for exposure/experience. The event will be well attended. Contact Louise Cutler Studio. Deadline to contact is Feb. 18. Audition required.
We are also looking for vendors for our market.

Grades 6-8
Choose a great African American either from history or current times and tell why he or she is great. Include your definition of “great”. What lessons can we learn from this person? How has she or he impacted your life?
Go beyond the obvious.

I am History in the Making: Why?
Essays and poems will go through a judging process, criteria consistent with that of Colorado State standard.
Essays and poems will be judged based on creativity, originality, and subject matter. Keep in mind that great people exist around us in our everyday lives, not just in books or on television.

Awards will be presented by local author Reverend Lonzie Symonette.
Friends, family, and community members are invited
to celebrate student authors who will read
their prize winning poems and essays.
Enjoy African American food, music, and art.
Prizes will be awarded to
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Winners will be notified by February 5, 2010
