Rotary Club of Colorado Springs Presents Special Program on Tariffs, Trade & Colorado’s Economic Future
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Rotary Club of Colorado Springs will host a timely and insightful program exploring how national trade policies impact Colorado’s economy. Featured speaker Bill Craighead, Ph.D., Director of the UCCS Economic Forum, will present “Tariffs, Trade & Colorado: Why U.S. Policy Matters Locally.”
Dr. Bill Craighead is a respected economist and the Director of the UCCS Economic Forum, the leading source of credible economic data, forecasts, and analysis for the Pikes Peak region. With a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington, Dr. Craighead’s research and teaching specialties include macroeconomics, international trade, and public policy.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is frequently consulted by business leaders, policymakers, and civic organizations for his clear explanations of complex economic trends.
As head of the UCCS Economic Forum, Dr. Craighead leads efforts to track regional indicators, model economic performance, and translate U.S. and global policy shifts into local impact—making him uniquely qualified to address how tariff decisions reach families, employers, and communities in Southern Colorado.
The luncheon program takes place Friday, December 5, 2025, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Pinery at the Hill, located at 755 W. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Tickets are $35 and open to members, guests, and the general public.
