Colorado Springs Faces an Urgent Need for Holiday Toys — Chasing Santa 5K & Cycling Santa Toy Drive Rallies the Community to Rise to the Moment

Colorado Springs, CO — December 6, 2025 — Local nonprofits are reporting one of the highest needs for children’s holiday gifts in recent years, and organizers of the 15th Annual Chasing Santa 5K & Cycling Santa Toy Drive are calling on the community to step forward with generosity, compassion, and holiday spirit.

This year’s toy drive beneficiary, Give It Forward, has seen a significant increase in requests from families struggling through hardship — many facing economic strain, housing instability, or unexpected life challenges. With the holidays approaching, hundreds of children in Colorado Springs are at risk of going without a gift.

“The need is real, and the need is now,” Pharis the event organizer said. “Chasing Santa isn’t just a fun run — it’s a lifeline for local families.”

To meet this urgent community need, organizers are asking every participant — and every attendee — to bring one new, unwrapped toy to support families across the Pikes Peak region.

A Holiday Tradition with a Purpose — Sat, December 6, 2025

Even in the face of rising need, the Chasing Santa 5K & Cycling Santa Toy Drive remains one of the most joyful and uplifting events of the holiday season.

Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (After Party included!)

The event features:

🚴 Three festive cycling routes
🎄 Hundreds of Santas running, walking, and rolling for a cause

Kids ages 4 and under are free with adult registration — and they get their own mini Santa suit.

And you don’t even have to be in the race to join the fun — the Santa Block party is open to everyone ready to celebrate the season.

There’s truly something for every age, every energy level, and every holiday spirit.
