CLICK HERE: Tiger ExCCellence On and Off the Field

Dear Tiger Family,

As we mark the 50th anniversary of women in athletics here at Colorado College, our teams are filled with excitement and ambition — ready to build on last year’s incredible successes and chase new championships!

This momentum is more than a feeling — it’s measurable. Over the summer, we received word that Colorado College posted its highest finish in 20 years in the 2024–25 Learfield IMG Directors' Cup Standings, placing us in the top 18 percent of all Division III schools nationally. This recognition by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) is a powerful reflection of the talent, dedication, and spirit of our entire athletics community.

We were also honored to serve as the main venue for the 2025 Department of Defense Warrior Games — becoming the first non-service academy ever to do so. This incredible event brought together wounded, ill, and injured service members from every branch of the military to compete in adaptive sports and celebrate resilience, recovery, and camaraderie. Hosting an event like this helps to bring the vision of Ed Robson Arena alive and connects the college closely to the city of Colorado Springs. With more than $12 million in economic impact, the event was a huge hit!

On the ice, Coach Kris Mayotte and the hockey staff announced a top 10 incoming class of 14 student-athletes, recently ranked No. 2 in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) by Puck Preps recruiting service. This group combines exceptional skill with the character that defines a Tiger. Six of the class are NHL draft picks, making a total of nine on the current roster.

In the classroom, our student-athletes continue to lead the way. Last academic year both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-American honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The men led all NCAA divisions with a team GPA of 3.90, while the women tied for the highest in Division III with a GPA of 3.88, ranking third overall among all divisions. This marks the 23rd consecutive semester of academic recognition for both programs. In addition, SCAC Track Athlete of the Year Rabbit Barnes was named a First-Team Academic All-American.

We are also thrilled to celebrate two recent graduates for their excellence on and off the field. Curtis Hale (men’s soccer) was named a finalist for the SCAC Man of the Year Award, and Healy Bledsoe (women’s basketball and lacrosse) was named a finalist for the SCAC Woman of the Year Award. Their leadership, impact, and integrity make us proud to call them Tigers.

As we look to the future, we are stepping boldly into the evolving National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) landscape. Colorado College has opted into the new revenue-sharing structure for Division I athletics, ensuring that our hockey and women’s soccer programs remain competitive and supported. We’re actively planning and positioning ourselves to navigate this era of change while staying true to our values of broad-based academic and athletic excellence.

We’re also proud to share that the Tiger ExCCellence initiative celebrated its fifth consecutive year of growth! Your support has been the driving force behind these achievements, enabling our programs to thrive and providing our student-athletes with a transformative experience.

As we kick off this academic year, we invite you to help us make it another record-breaking one. Your generosity and unwavering support empower our teams to compete at the highest levels, foster an aspirational culture, and create unforgettable memories for our student-athletes.

Thank you for being an integral part of our success. Together, we can continue this momentum and achieve even greater heights in the year ahead.

With gratitude and Tiger pride,

Lesley Irvine
