This marked the beginning of a new chapter in our American story in which the African American journey would be a foundation, not a footnote. And we couldn’t have done it without dedicated donors like you. To honor all that we’ve achieved together—and take our work to new heights as we near our 10th anniversary—we’re challenging our Museum community to raise $100,000 by September 30. Will you help us get this important Anniversary Challenge off to a ... Your gift will support important Museum initiatives like our Community Curation Program. The community Curation Program is going beyond museum walls, by visiting cities across the country and inviting local residents to share personal items such as family photos, recipes, diplomas, audio recordings, and home videos. By digitizing these treasures, we’re helping preserve African American stories and memories for today—for generations to come. And you can help protect this living history by renewing your Museu... Since opening in 2016, our Members have helped welcome more than 12 million visitors to the Museum on the National Mall—and engage millions more online and through traveling exhibitions. Together, we’ve created a space where all can learn from the lessons of the past and be inspired to build a better shared future. And I hope you’ll continue making history with us!
