Through Harlem Gems preschools, Harlem Children’s Zone prepares our youngest scholars with the tools they need to meet the demands for kindergarten. Your generosity supports this next generation of scholars by setting them on the pathway to social and economic mobility. Thanks to our Board, all new donations made by June 30 will be matched—doubling your impact on our scholars.

A year-round, full-day preschool program, Gems is centered on literacy, math, and Social Emotional Learning. With a 5:1 child-to-adult ratio, all Gems receive the individualized instruction necessary for child development. In FY24, 96% of graduating Gems were school-ready for kindergarten. Your support provides our children with the foundations to become tomorrow’s college graduates and community role models.
