    EarthSkills of Manitou offers you a unique opportunity to engage in time-tested techniques that our ancestors have used to thrive in harmony with nature for millena. 

    Reconnect with a sense of belonging on the land as we experience hands-on learning every second Saturday of the month, this spring at Smokebrush Farm. Rediscover the fundamental skills that make us humans wild! 

    🪢 Fiber & Cordage –

    Saturday, March 8th

    Get hands-on as you learn the ancient art of fiber processing and cordage making. These fundamental skills were once key to creating tools, shelter, and clothing from the earth. Practice knot-tying and craft your own ultralight backpack tie

    🪨 Stone & Bone Tools –

    Saturday, April 12th

    Step into the past and learn to craft cutting tools from stone and bone. Discover how our ancestors used these natural materials to make practical, sustainable tools. hape natural materials into functional, biodegradable tools and discover the power of rocks!

    🔥 Friction Fire Building –

    Saturday, May 10th

    Feel the spark! Tap into the power of fire building, the ancient survival skill that helped early humans survive and thrive. Learn to use a hand and bow drill to start a fire from scratch, using local woods and natural materials to spark a flame. Rekindle your connection to nature!
